How to flash the stock rom back onto a Galaxy A52s 5G

In this post, I will explain how to flash the stock ROM back onto a Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G. This guide applies to you if you had flashed a custom ROM and want to revert back to the stock ROM.

How to flash the stock rom back onto a Galaxy A52s 5G

Windows 7/8/10/11

Acquire the stock ROM

This is done with a tool called Frija which lets you download the stock firmware for your device.

  • Download the latest release of Frija
  • Open Frija, put SM-A528B in the Model box
  • Put the CSC of your phone in the CSC box

Then, click download which downloads the official stock firmware for your device.

Enter download mode

Now that you have the stock firmware, to flash back to the stock ROM, you need to first enter download mode. This mode allows you to flash ROMs onto your device using a tool called Odin.

To enter download mode:

  • Power off the device.
  • Connect the device to a PC using a USB cable.
  • Hold the Volume Up + Volume Down keys.
  • Press the buttons that correlate to “Continue” when in download mode.

Download the drivers

In order for Odin to be able to detect your phone, you need to first download and install the Samsung Android USB driver which is found here.

Install the drivers, reboot your PC, and then proceed with the rest of the guide.

Flash the Stock ROM

  • Download Odin from here.
  • Extract Odin_3.13.1.zip.
  • Run Odin3 v3.13.1 found in the newly extracted Odin_3.13.1 folder.
  • Check in the top left of the Odin window that you see a valid device, it will show up as something like COM0.
  • In the left side of the Odin window, you will see an Options tab, click it, and then check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options.
  • Add the firmware files to their designated slots (AP in AP, BL in BL, CP in CP, HOME_CSC1 in CSC). Do not tick any extra boxes.
  • Click the Start button to begin flashing the stock rom onto the device.

Finished!

After a reboot, you should see that your device is now booted into the stock ROM.

  1. The reason HOME_CSC is used here is because it does not reset the data on the phone, if you use CSC, then the phone will be factory reset. ↩︎
